Mistranslations - Saliva Chicken

Saliva Chicken? De-lish!

A helpful way to expand one’s clientele is to include a translation of your services/offers. If a restaurant wants to appeal to a foreigner, English is generally a safe language to use, for it is one of the most popular languages found in the world today.

However, when using English, it is very important to market one’s food well so as to tantalize the appetite of your guests. “Saliva Chicken,” while close to its actual translation which is “mouthwatering chicken,” could certainly use some improvement. Unfortunately for the translation of “Fuqi Feipan”, “Husband and Wife Lung Slice” is an incredibly confusing, as well as bizarre description of the very tasty dish!
