Hello dear reader. Today on Mistranslations we found a simple but silly sign that was originally written in Japanese. Unfortunately for whoever translated the text, they didn’t check their spelling. What should have read as “Do not dump here” and, “this is not a dump site”, the writer instead confused the term “dumb” with “dump”. An easy mistake for sure, but still, it is rather amusing to imagine that this building has had a problem with people being belligerently dumb on the premises. Next time they should have at least consulted a dictionary in order to clarify the definition of “dumb”.
