Certified Translation Affidavit. Accuracy and quality, true to the original contents of your legal documents!

Although the legalization of translated documents, such as a birth/death certificate, a marriage certificate/license, or an academic transcript, is not an everyday requirement, you can be sure that when the need arises it is likely to be important. Additionally, following the service of professional legal translators, a document needs to be certified (and also notarized in some cases) to satisfy official bodies, such as immigration departments, courts of law, government agencies, schools, and universities.

Day Translations certified affidavit of translation

At Day Translations we can provide you with a legally certified affidavit of translation—a legally binding statement that affirms our ability to translate the original document into the target language in an accurate and complete manner that is in accordance with industry standards. To validate the affidavit of translation, we provide the name of the authorized Day Translations representative, our certification stamp and official seal, our company’s qualifications and accreditations, an official notary seal, and the signature of a notary public (or a commissioner of oaths in the United Kingdom).

How to request a certified affidavit of translation

It’s easy! When you complete our online form to submit your document for translation:

a) Select “YES” in response to the question, “Is notarization required?”

b) Let us know that you need an affidavit of translation under “Translations details.”

c) Please specify whether you need the notarization to be completed in a specific state or county; otherwise, notarization will occur at the Day Translations office in California, U.S. where our mail dispatcher is located.

If you prefer to send your documents via email, send the scanned copy to [email protected], or fax the documents toll free to 1-800-856-2759. Again, please indicate that you are requesting an affidavit of translation.

You will receive a free quote as well as instructions from us, and you will need to approve the quote before we can proceed with the translation. Also, we will only mail your legally certified affidavit of translation after you have approved the completed translation. Day Translations policy assures that all customers within the U.S. will receive the affidavit of translation, together with the translated documents, within one business day of approval.

PLEASE NOTE: The waiting period for notarization may be several days, especially if the affidavit of translation needs to be submitted outside the U.S.—in such cases, we will inform you of the turnaround time in advance.

Please note that a legally certified affidavit of translation is different from a certified translation. A certified translation is validated by the Day Translations stamp, an official seal, and an authorized signature, thereby asserting the accuracy and completeness of the translated document. A legally certified affidavit of translation, however, is not only certified by Day Translations, it is also notarized, whereby an official notary seal and signature is provided by a notary public.
